Mrs. April Young
The Roanoke County School Board has named April Young as the new principal at Glen Cove Elementary School. Young joins Roanoke County Public Schools after serving as the principal at Fairview Elementary in Roanoke City for 17 years. A graduate of Northside High School, Young holds a bachelor’s degree from Virginia Tech and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Radford University.
Mr. Matthew Gouker
Matthew Gouker is our new Assistant Principal and comes to us from Botetourt County Schools. Matthew has taught for 14 years and has spent 10 of those years teaching special education at the elementary level. Matthew’s wife is also a teacher, and they have a daughter that is 4 years old. Welcome Matthew!
